This is second morning in the Haleakala Crater on Maui, Hawaii. It was below freezing and, as you may be able to tell, my friend's tent has LOTS of ventilation (it's made for the hot beach ;)). We survived though, and luckily, the other side of the crater wasn't as wet. I was walking around barefoot on this morning with my tripod and my feet were almost turning blue when i got back... hehe, they don't really teach us about the cold in Hawaii. :p

There were some native Nene Geese walking around our tents, too. They were pretty cool, although they'd make the weirdest honking noise in the middle of the night which would freak me out!.. Then I'd shiver back to sleep. It was so fun!

Hawaii!!?? That looks like the Yorkshire Moors in the middle of February. I love camping in cold weather (then again I know what to expect ;) ). Well done :)

yup, up in the extinct volcano on maui. It's above the clouds up there, so pretty chilly. I should have taken some thermals or something. :p

yes! it was below freezing... my friend thought he was going to shiver up and die in the night... haha, it was a good time. But maybe I'll take some long sleeve shirts the next time. :D

Looks like a grand time!! I love camping but it's been years since I have. Cold weather dress is just alot of layers and keep the toes, fingers and head warm. :P My must have during cold climate is clap stick. :#1:

haha, i was walking barefoot (hawaiian style) out in the dew at 35 degrees... my feet were on cold fire when i got back into the tent!
